While all three EQs / saturators look almost the same, aside from magesy download their colours, Babelson Audio says that they use different algorithms. The FD1N is nicknamed “British Edition”, while the FD3N carries the label “U.S.A. Edition”. It doesn’t appear that the EQs have been modeled after any specific British or American pieces of hardware…
The original KLEIN & HUMMEL UE-100® EQs are extremely rare and expensive. But Rafa Sardina – who has 12 Grammy wins and 35 nominations – owns 10 of them! What is so special about this weird and wonderful device? For some time, hardware equalizers had to each be developed with a specific purpose in mind, requiring engineers to combine different EQ types in one signal chain in order to achieve the frequency response they needed on any given source. They would have to accept the necessary evil of the resulting phase and intermodulation distortion when treating these sounds. When released in 1961, the Klein & Hummel UE-100 Universal Equalizer changed all that. This all-tube minimum phase EQ used six discrete filter modules to create a collection of band-pass filters that could create dynamic curves for any application from magesy download source mixing to vocal tracking to mastering. While some earlier UE-100s were used to transparently filter out junk low and high frequencies when printing to tape and vinyl, it quickly became commonplace to take advantage of the unique pushbutton frequency selection; this provided an easy way to not only recall settings, but also alter them on the fly while recording a performance. The UE-100 became known for its musically warm curves and precise response, offering a myriad of possibilities for treating frequencies by boosting and/or cutting across the spectrum to shape sounds “like a Pultec on steroids.”
The Lindell ChannelX bundle is more than your typical bundle. While on one level it is a collection of three amazing Lindell plugins, the 7X-500 limiter, the PEX-500 EQ and the 6X-500 preamp, it also includes the ChannelX plugin shell which allows you to run all three plugins in a single insert and even change the order that they appear in the signal path. Start off with the 6X-500 preamp to add a bit of punch and color, then add some tasty vintage FET compression with the 7X-500 limiter and then dial in some sweetness with the Pultec inspired PEX-500 EQ.
Designed by musicians for musicians, the Blue Equalizers Pack is a collection of 6 plug-ins processors designed to improve the quality of digital sound recordings. This bundle recreates the warm sound qualities of classic equalizer analog hardware. The sound quality of Blue Equalizers pack is nothing short of amazing. Yet all 6 plug-ins provide a simple and functional vintage-style interface, as well as low CPU consumption for lightening-fast processing.
The Tube-Tech PE 1C is a passive, tube-based equalizer suitable for many different sources ranging from magesy download bass drums and guitars to vocals. The equalizer features a Low Frequency section made up of two low shelf filters which can be combined to attenuate and boost at the same time. These filters are actually bit apart in frequency even if they are controlled by the same frequency selector. The High Frequency section has a peak and shelving filter working in parallel, which provides a smooth top end while not getting too bright. The ability to combine the different filters and sections is what gives the PE 1C its characteristic sound and is something which plays a crucial part in explaining the classic Pultec sound.
