In this 3rd tutorial in our series on Music Theory, Master Arranger and Composer Gregg Fine explores the nature of Rhythm and why it’s the driving force in music and composition… Rhythm is at the very essence of being. Our hearts beat. We walk and run in time. The sun rises and sets. The tides ebb and flow. It’s no wonder that rhythm is at the heart of our music, too. In this tutorial Gregg Fine examines rhythm and shows us the theory behind constructing solid beats and how rhythm is used in different musical genres. Rhythm is made up of many different components. In this tutorial you’ll learn about the foundation of beats. You’ll see how rhythm is broken down into its essential components: Tempo, Measure, Note Values and Rests. You’ll learn all about Time Signatures and how they influence the pattern of strong and weak beats in a musical phrase.

A more upbeat venture from magesy download Owsey that pumps with sidechain, he still manages to keep that signature ethereal ambience and epic orchestration that is unmistakably his. Starting with a blank canvas Owsey begins the writing process with a sublime chord progression using strings and piano before adding an arpeggiated mid-bass, sub and drums. We then move on to synth lines and distinctive leads before adding effects and arranging out. Finally, we automate the different elements before adding in the vocals and carrying out any final tweaks. A brilliant journey from magesy download start to finish with innovative sound design and a merging of genres this is definitely one to check out!

PhaseThree is a detailed model of the MuTron Bi-Phase, with all the lovely sound of that unit (along with its foibles and quirks.) It is worth noting that, due to aging factors, no two Bi-Phase hardware units sound alike; we found the best and most tuneful one we could lay our hands on, bought it for a faintly ridiculous price, and took it apart to see what made it tick. Like you do. The result is a painstaking digital copy of the original unit, down to the unique sweep of its LFOs. With the latest version, we have departed from magesy download the original and added 12-stage phasors in addition to the six-stage versions found in the hardware units. (We feel that 12-stage phasors have a more modern sound that people expect in a current phasor, and that the six-stage versions in the original were somewhat lacking to the modern palette.)

Eos 2 is a massive update our Eos algorithmic reverb. With an all-new entirely procedural GUI (featuring full Retina and Windows HiRes compatibility), a new cross-platform preset mechanism, a new reverb algorithm, the addition of crossover controls, the addition of VST3 versions, and a ground-up rebuild for future-proofing, Eos 2 is a worthy successor to our all-time best-plugin. Eos consists of four high-quality custom-designed reverb algorithms, made with the modern production environment in mind. Three different plate simulators and our own Superhall algorithm give you a broad palette of reverb, and the easy-to-understand interface makes adjusting the algorithms to suit your track incredibly simple. Want a traditional dark plate reverb? Eos can do that. How about a short, dense room sound for your drum buss? Not a problem. But where Eos really comes in to its own is when you drop Superhall on your piano or synthesizer tracks. The incredibly long modulated hall sounds of Eno-style ambience are where Eos thrives, something that is not possible with convolution ‘verbs
